News from KANAZAWA

2017.11.01 Let’s visit some famous temples in Kanazawa!

Around 1616, Maeda Toshitsune, the third-generation feudal lord of the Kaga domain, gathered Buddhist temples that were scattered around the town of Kanazawa into 3 main temple districts. These three areas are called “Ishibiki no Michi” (pulling stones road; Kodatsuno District), “Shizune no Komichi” (little road of silence; Teramachi District) and “Kokoro no Michi” (spiritual road; Utatsuyama District), and are perfect environments for a pleasant stroll, each emanating its own unique, elegant history. On the homepage of the Kanazawa Tourism Association, we introduce these temple areas in English, so be sure to refer to this when planning a trip!
