This was constructed in 1879. The eaves are low, deep and stately, befitting of a residence in the snowy lands of Takayama. The splendid structure of the beams and the spaciousness of the traditional earthen floor reflects the essence of Edo-style building techniques, making it a good representation of traditional Japanese minka architecture.
